Acorns Committee

The Committee

Acorns Preschool Management Committee is made up of volunteers. We are all parents of children who attend, will attend or have attended the Preschool. The committee is the management of the business, it works closely with the staff and the management of Acorns who over see the Educational and care side of the business.

As a charity we have to have a committee; it is an essential part of the Preschool as without it there would be no preschool. The Committee is elected at its AGM in June and is responsible for appointing the staff, liaising with Ofsted, managing the accounts, setting budgets, marketing and fundraising.

Meetings are held every 4-6 weeks depending on the agenda/calendar of events.

DBS Checks

There is a Child Protection policy in place. Disclosure and Barring Service checks are carried out prior to commencement of employment, volunteer work or committee membership. These checks are carried out again every three years in line with statutory requirements.
